Obituary for Edward F. Creagh, Jr.

Edward (Sonny) Fedora Creagh, Junior was born November 2, 1950, to Edward Fedora Creagh Senior and Creola Jordan Creagh. He was the fourth of six boys. The late Ezra C. Jordan, Joseph P. Jordan, Jerry Nunn, Michael L. Creagh, and John M. Creagh. Sonny was a good loving husband and father. After high school, he joined the Army in 1969 and served honorable in the Viet Nam Campaign (Special Forces).
He was very athletic in football and track while at Rowan High School. Sonny also attended Pearl River Junior College, Jones County Junior College, William Carey University and the University of Southern Mississippi. Sonny played semi-pro football with the Mobile Generals and did tryouts for several Professional Teams. He created and coached the Gautier Devils man’s semi-pro basketball team. He was an active Mason, served as a Red Cress volunteer and helped a lot with different community services.
Sonny did face many, many pitfalls and very hard challenges along the way, as we ‘all’ do. After giving his life to Christ, he was very devoted to church work and spiritual life. Sonny was a Deacon on the Church board at the Family of Faith Christin Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward. F Creagh Sr. and Creola J. Creagh, brother Ezra C. (Johnie Mae) Jordan and daughter Portia White.
He leaves to cherish his love, wisdom, and devotion, a loving wife Gwendolyn Marie Creagh, Biloxi, MS. Three daughters; Tahira Creagh, Meridian, MS, Bridgette Creagh, Hattiesburg, MS and Theresa S. Thames, Princeton, NJ. Four brothers; Joseph P. (Johnnie Mae) Jordan, San Antonio, TX, Jerry (Pamela) Nunn, Oak Grove, MS, Michael (Flecia) Creagh and Elder John M. (Clarissa) Creagh, al of Hattiesburg, MS. Nine grandchildren; Tarik Hopper, Jessica Haynes, Jessie Haynes III, Jaylon Creagh, Jessilynn Haynes, Delmost White, Darien Haynes, Antonio Haynes Jr and Tevin Creagh. One great-grandchild Kingston Jammaar Williams and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins that loved our Sonny very dearly.
