In the small town of Pascagoula, MS, a beautiful baby girl was born on June 12, 1943, to Doris Marie Wright-Davis and Will “Moton” Davis and they named her Marie Elizabeth. She was raised in a home, with a father that instilled GODLY principles and love, therefore she grew up with a mindset to serve him. Her dedication and compassion for others were qualities that will forever define her life and legacy. Her father also taught her a thing or two about vehicles, and she took pleasure in assisting him in his auto shop. From maintenance and repairs to sanding, masking, and painting. She loved her daddy.
Marie slipped into eternal rest at home while surrounded by the family and friends that she loved so much and that loved her. She had a great love for helping others any way she could and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. Marie had a passion for music and listened to it as often as she could. Anytime she could get away to Suggsville, AL to spend time with her dearest grandmother, affectionately known as “Mudea” she would take full advantage of the opportunity.
Marie was baptized at an early age and was a member of Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. G.J. Martin. Her membership remained there, under the leadership of Pastor Larry G. Hawkins until her health failed. Her spirit will forever live on in the countless lives she touched, the communities she served, and the family she so dearly loved.
