Derrick Durrell

Derrick Durrell, 62, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, passed away, October 23, 2026, peacefully at his home. 

He was born in Chicago, Illinois, April 18, 1964, the son of Lee Arthur and Cora Lee Durrell. Derrick attended Jefferson County High School and graduated in 1982. Derrick was married to Catina Durrell on August 29, 1998. Derrick spent his working career in the food industry mastering his passion for cooking and serving others. 

Derrick enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, and watching football on Sundays. 

Derrick was preceded in death by; Lee Arthur Durrell Jr. 

Derrick Durrell is survived by his wife Catina Durrell; his parents Lee Arthur and Cora Lee Durrell, his children Koleshia O’Quinn, Shannon Gaines Sr., Candise Jackson, and Latoya Mungin (Jordan Mungin), his grandchildren Briana Autman Gaines, Shannon Gaines Jr., Alayjah Jackson-Austin, Kylen Shockley, Jadyn Gaines, Ja’Mair Mungin, Aleena Gaines, Kyra Mungin, Mailey Atwood,; 1 great-grandchild, his siblings Zenophia Lacy (Vernon Lacy), Benjamin Durrell (Tanya Durrell), Marcus Durrell (Valarie Durrell), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services for Derrick Durrell will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026. Viewing of Mr. Derrick Durrell will be from 11a.m-12p.m. The homegoing service will begin at 12p.m. The location of the service will be at Infinity Church The Apostolic Assembly: 4031 Popps Ferry Rd. D’Iberville, MS. 39540.
