Elylun E. "Punkin" Patton

Elylun E. “Punkin” Patton was born on August 2, 1974, in Columbia, Mississippi, to Lillie Carney and E.W. Patton. She grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi, and was deeply devoted to her family and her faith.

Punkin dearly loved her children, grandson, and family. She enjoyed reading her Bible, and playing Bible trivia. Each morning, she faithfully sent scriptures to family members, offering encouragement and sharing the faith that meant so much to her.

Known for being outspoken and honest, Punkin was also a trusted friend and a favorite aunt and sister in her family. Everyone knew they could call her for advice, to vent, or to share a secret that would remain safe with her. Her loving heart and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed.

Punkin was preceded in death by her brother, James Patton; her “Big Mama,” Etter M. Patton; James Lacy Brown, who was her stepfather; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, E.W. Patton and Lillie (Willie) Carney; daughters, Tatiana Patton and Sa’Quoyria Patton; son, Paul Patton; grandson, Ja’Hari Patton; sisters, Charley Johnson, Latisha Patton, and Annette Patton; brothers, Eddie Patton and Robert Johnson; and a host of extended family members and special friends whom she loved dearly.

Punkin’s love, wisdom, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 am at Abundant Life Evangelistic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
