Obituary for Limmie Earl Beal



Limmie Beal Sr., of Gulfport, MS was born to the late Limmie K. Beal and Mary Lee Beal on June 26th, 1948. He departed this life on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Biloxi VA Hospital. Limmie joined the Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of the late Pastor Famous McElhaney. He was an active member serving on the Usher Board and Trustee Board until his health failed. He also coached the Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church Womens Softball. They won many first place trophies under his leadership. Limmie attended 33rd Avenue High School and was a graduate of the class of 1967. While attending 33rd Avenue High School he played football and basketball. He was an active liaison with planning the 1967 class reunions and over the years. In 1968, Limmie entered into the United States Army and fought in Vietnam War. While serving in the military, he was honored with the National Defense Services Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart, Marksman (Rifle), Marksman (Pistol), and First Class Gunner. After serving our country he started working at C. E. Natco, where he was a painter for over 20 years. Once the company closed, he started working at V.T. Halter Marine where he served as a Paint Supervisor until his health failed. Limmie enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling and giving his advice on the best way to grill and sports team. He also enjoyed watching his favorite football team, "Americas Team" the Dallas Cowboys; yes, he and his son-in-law are dedicated, diehard fans. He played and coached softball and baseball in the local Gulfport area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Limmie K. Beal and Mary Beal; and sister, Cynthia Beal. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his loving wife of 47 years, Marsha Beal; daughter, Tara (Kenneth) Perkins of Douglasville, GA; son, Limmie Beal, Jr.; granddaughter, Hailey Perkins of Douglasville, GA; three brothers, Reverend James (Gailya) Beal of Gulfport, MS, Mr. Dwight (Lydia) Beal of Broken Arrow, OK, and Mr. Stannard (Devonne) Beal of Mitchellville, MD; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie (Arthur) Ray, Ms. Marilyn Bowman, Mrs. Donna (Emerson) Snow of Gulfport, MS, and Miss Dorothy Beal of Olney, MD; brother-in-law, Joseph (Clara) Godine of Meridian, MS; sister-in-laws, Ms. Oradeen Parson of Memphis, TN, Ms. Betty Bailey and Ms. Audrey Mae Godine of Gulfport, MS; three godchildren: Sergeant Eric Dawkins of Ft. Benning, GA, Mr. Gary Holloman, Jr. of Gulfport, MS and Miss Diamond Clinkscales of Olney, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and a very close and special friend, former classmate, Miss Linda Sue Clemmons.
