Zachary A. McKay, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on May 2, 2025, in D'Iberville, MS, at the age of 30. Born on July 22, 1994, in Gulfport, MS, Zach lived a life infused with passion and a profound love for his family and friends.

Zach dedicated his career to the culinary arts, serving as a cook at various casino restaurants. His conscientiousness and commitment to quality were evident in his work; he often took the initiative to ensure that every dish met his high standards, reflecting his deep care for his craft.

He was a graduate of Gulfport High School, where his curiosity and analytical thinking began to shine. Zach was known for being an old soul, a deeply reflective individual who possessed a wisdom beyond his years. He was often the source of joy for those around him, particularly his children: Leilani, Zachary Jr., and Ermias. His family fondly remembers the laughter they shared, often gathering on the front porch to talk and enjoy each other's company. The joy of his presence was unmistakable, typically heralded by the sound of music as he pulled into the driveway.

Zach’s love for animals, especially his four pit bulls—Ceasar, Zoe, Nova, and Rose—was a testament to his nurturing nature. He had an infectious spirit, characterized by humor and an outgoing personality. He was protective of those he loved and was known to be a true friend to many.

He is survived by his father, Raymond McKay; the love of his life and mother of his children, Ciera Watson; sister, Sheteama McKay; brother, Tyler (Pareesha) McKay; and his loving children, Leilani, Zachary Jr., and Ermias McKay. He also leaves behind his niece, Makalia McKay, and nephews, Kingston Robinson and Francisco McKay.

Zachary is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Francesca McKay; grandmother, Annie Gordon; grandfather, Dominic Alexander; grandmother, Delecta Alexander; and aunt, Rosalind Alexander. His spirit lives on through the lessons and love Zach imparted to his family and the cherished memories that will forever be held close to their hearts.
