Finally brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might�. Eph 6:10 Sonceria Rah Nichols was born January 27, 1963 in Gulfport, Mississippi. to Pastor Joe W. Nichols Jr. and Mrs. Lottie Dell Burley. She was the only child born to this union. As a child, she attended the Gulfport School System and graduated from Gulfport High School in 1981. Sonceria was a resident of Gulfport her entire life. She departed her earthly tabernacle on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 on the wings of angels, bound for her eternal resting place. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. �Rah� as she was affectionately known, never met a stranger. Throughout her life, she always found time and resources to help meet the needs of others. Evangelist Rah loved the Lord with every fiber of her being. She committed herself to spreading the Gospel and sharing the love of God with everyone God graced her to meet. Her labor of love was endless and not in vain. Evangelist Rah was a faithful member of People Mission Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school Teacher, Pulpit Conductor, and member of the Adult Choir, Asst. Youth Director, Mission Society and Eucharist Minister. On alternate fourth Sundays, she preached the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was employed with Gulf Coast Community Action Agency for 14 years. She was preceded in death by her mother: Lottie Dell Burley; her maternal grandparents: Hosey and Viola Ramsey; Paternal grandparents: Pastor Joe W. Nichols, sr. and Letha Nichols; 1 grandson: Ra�Shawn Thompson; 2 aunts, 5 uncles, and 1 brother. She leaves to morn her passing and cherish her memories, 2 sons: Steven Maurice Nichols and Shawn Ray Thompson; 1 daughter: Sheri Latoya Thompson all of Gulfport, MS; her father: Bishop Joe (Pastor Lillie) Nichols, Jr., of Gulfport, MS. 7 sisters: Veronica Nichols- Shaw of Gulfport, MS; Gershalia Dixon of Avondale, LA; Kyra Nichols, Graechelle Hall, Kenyetta Nichols, Elder Shelmon Powell and Jerrica Jones all of Gulfport, MS; 1 brother: Min. Danyel Nichols; 10 Aunts, 5 uncles, and a host of cousins, family and friends. Services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at The Good Deeds Community Center in Gulfport, with visitation one hour before. The family of Ms. Sonceria Rah Nichols has entrusted the care of their loved one to the professional staff of RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME.
