Seffield Lewis

Saffield Lewis was born February 4, 1931, in Tylertown, MS to Walter and Melissa Lewis.

Saffield attended Walthall County Schools.  Later in life, he married Betty Jo Lowe to that Union 7 Children were born. They moved to Biloxi, MS where he worked for Texaco Gas for several years.

In September of 1967, he moved to Baton Rouge, LA; where he worked for Baton Rouge School System. Later in life, he met his life companion Eliza Russell. He retired in late 1990 from the School System. After his retirement, he loved Watching Sports; his favorite teams were Dallas Cowboys and LSU Tigers. He loved watching movies and being around his family.

Saffield Lewis departed from his earthly Labor to receive his glorious rewards on April 5, 2023, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge, LA at the blessed age of 92.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Melissa Lewis. 1 son- Joseph Lewis, 1 daugther-Sherry Anne Hamilton, 1 Granddaugther -Dominique Bonner, 1great-greatgrandson Tijuana Woodard, 5 brothers Rufus, Wardell, Sydney, Acworth, Cornwell Lewis, 5 sisters Laura Weatherby, Margaret Alexander, Lenese Brock, Herlene Hudnall, Evelyn Magee

 Saffield leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories 4-sons Willie (Jacqueline) Lewis of Fort Lauderdale Florida David (Grace) Lewis and Jerry Lewis of Gulfport, MS and Emerson Russell of Baton Rouge LA. 2 daughters Linda Graffiti and Alfreda Moore both from Gulfport, MS a bonus daughter Virginia (Leonard) Collins of Baltimore Maryland a host of nephew and nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Infinity Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 pm.  Visitation will start at 1:00 pm.
