Roy Lee Alexander, Sr.

Brother Roy Lee “Peppermint Man” Alexander, Sr., a resident of Gulfport, MS was born on November 14, 1942 in Gulfport to Ms. Lillie Taylor. Brother Roy was a faithful and dedicated servant of Little Rock Baptist Church where he served devotedly as an usher, trustee, male choir member, and other auxiliaries to support the church. He loved serving God. Brother Alexader ensured the church doors were always opened every Sunday at 6:15 am. He drove the church van to guarantee that other members had transportation to services. He worked at Van Moving & Storage in Gulfport for ten years. He was also employed at Indal Aluminum, where he served faithfully for 38 years before retiring. He loved life! He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, and spending time with family and friends. Brother Roy leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Lillie Taylor of Gulfport; five children, Vontella (Cedric) Jackson of Gulfport, Roy (Keitha) Alexander of Biloxi, Tyrone Alexander of Atlanta, Kimberly (Cartess) Ross of Amelia Islands, FL, and Edwin Mallard of Gulfport; his best friend and brother, Johnny Ray Crain and D.J. Copeland Crain; and longtime friend, Rosemary Jordan Johnson. The care of Brother Roy Lee Alexander, Sr. has been entrusted to RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME. Inquiries: 228-436-6722.
