Robert Henry Grayson

Robert “Smiley” Grayson was born on August 9, 1943, in Butler, Alabama, to the late Robert H. Grayson Sr. and Minnie Lee Vines.

At an early age, Robert answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. During his distinguished military career, he was stationed in Baumholder, Germany, along with several stateside bases. After 23 years of honorable and dedicated service, he retired in Biloxi, Mississippi. Following his retirement, Robert remained steadfast in his faith and continued his Christian fellowship at Triangle Chapel on Keesler Air Force Base.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lula Grayson; three sisters, Ruby (John) Danjou, Minnie (Rick) Todd, and Lillie (George) Wofford; and four brothers, William “Dub” Grayson, Luther (Clara) Grayson, Samuel (Mary) Grayson, and Willie Fred (Geneva) Grayson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and special friend, Clara Bell Johnson, who remained faithfully by his side until his transition; two sisters, Peggy (Matthew) Armstead and Diane (Hoover) Wright; two brothers, Larry (Frances) Grayson and Lesley (Diane) Grayson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a loving church family.

Robert will be remembered for his service, his faith, and the warmth reflected in the smile that earned him the name “Smiley.”

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Infinity Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
