Reginald was born on October 1, 1957, in DeFuniak Springs, FL, to James Louis Campbell Sr. and Betty Lou Campbell. He was the fourth child. During his childhood, Reggie was blessed to travel the world as a military brat. In 1968, the family made the Mississippi Gulf Coast their home. Reggie matriculated through the Gulfport School System.
He was reared at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Gulfport, MS, under the leadership of Rev. James Palmer. He also visited New Bethel often with his mother.
Reggie had a tremendous love for his family and for music. He retired from the Keesler Exchange and later returned to work for Bates on Keesler Air Force Base, from which he recently retired again to care for his mother.
Reggie loved his nieces and nephews as his own and helped raise them. He was a friend to many and will be deeply missed.
Preceding him in death are his father, James Louis Campbell Sr.; father figure, Colyar Frierson; grandparents, Cam and Willie Campbell Sr., and J.C. and Sadie Nelson; sisters, Brenda (James) Campbell Turner and Janice Campbell Robinson; and brothers, James Campbell Jr. and Derek Campbell.
His memory will forever live in the hearts of his mother, Betty Lou Campbell of Biloxi, MS; his brother, Marcus (Caroline) Campbell of Warner Robins, GA; one aunt, Venear Campbell Palmer of Tampa, FL; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
