Princess A. James

Princess A. James, a lover of God, a true worshiper at heart, and in her actions; passed from time into eternity, Monday, June 25, 2018. Princess, affectionately called “P.J.”, was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, November 9,1971; the daughter of Ezzard and Ella James. Princess attended Gulfport High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1990. P.J. spent her working career with The City of Gulfport as a Customer Relations Representative. P.J. was a tremendous artist, singer, lover of children, all around beautiful soul, and an amazing mother. She loved to laugh and have a good time with friends and family. Her boisterous laughter and gregarious nature would uplift hearts and make everyone feel at ease in her presence. Always a giver, she made sure others were happy, even if it infringed upon her own happiness. She was the sweetest, most loving person. A loving and devoted mother, Princess was her son’s greatest fan, advocate and cheerleader. A wonderful sister to her brothers, she was deeply patient and accommodating. An excellent friend, Princess did not judge others and was always kind and supportive. Even in the hardest of times, she could be relied upon for an encouraging word. Always resilient, Princess persevered through life’s adversities with grace and laughter. Princess loved her Bishop, her First Lady and her Greater Grace church family. Our beloved Princess fought the good fight of faith. She stood the test of time. She has finished her course. We await the blessed day when we will reunite with her to forever be with The Lord. Princess was preceded in death by a great-grandmother, Johnnie Young; her mother, Ella James and her father, Ezzard James. Princess leaves to cherish her legacy, her loving son, Elija Keys; a daughter, Audrie James-Cawley and Audrie's husband, Samuel; 3 brothers: Dayon James Sr., Elijah James, and Jason James; one sister, Tanisha James-Peterson and her husband, Anthony; a best friend and sister, Krystal Dexter; 3 grandchildren, Addison, Addelyn, and Coyote Cawley; one niece, Katrina Harvey, 2 nephews Dayon James, Jr, and King David Smith II and the “Peterson 5”, a marvelous friend, Augusta Brunell III and a host of family and friends; church and biological alike.
