Mittie L. Johnson

April 23, 1941 — December 31, 2022

Mittie Lee Johnson of D ’Iberville passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, December 31, 2022.  Mittie was born April 23, 1941, in Alabama to the late Phillip Sr. and Lillie Johnson.  She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eric E. Dickey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons:  Marzine and Ronald Thames, by her daughter:  Marquita Thames Green, and by her sisters:  Ella Dean Johnson and Katherine Johnson. 

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the hearts of her daughters:  Monica Thames of Gainesville, FL, and Rosilyn Morris of Colorado Springs, CO, by her grandchildren:  Jermiel Thames (Syrita), Dominique Paul, Dorian Thames (Luz), Brittany Thames, Joshua Lamar, Shaquille Singletary (Roderick Grant), and Lindsey Morris Jr., and by her brothers: Phillip Johnson (Jacquelyn) and Jack Johnson, by her sisters:   Beatrice Bradley (Ernest) and Kathleen Peoples, a host of great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at D'Iberville Memorial Park, at 10:00 am.
