Mary Lee Scott Strickland, 80, a resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away, June 13, 2021, at her home from natural causes. Mary was born in Biloxi, MS, on October 13, 1940, the daughter of Henry and Willie Lee Scott. She attended M.F. Nichols Colored School where she received a high school diploma. Mary was divorced. Mary spent her working career at the Gulfport Veterans Administration where she was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She also drove the public-school bus for many years. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Lee Scott, and her father, Henry Walter Scott. Mary is survived by four sisters: Marie (a fraternal twin) Williams (Winston), Deloris Mills (Bill), Mable Austin (Mose), and Patricia Dixon (Marvin); Four children: Cletis Avery (Brenzena), Temica Davis, Cedric Rayford (Shi) and Vera Robertson (Benjamin); seven grandchildren: Shanta Williams, Alexis Avery, Cletis II Avery, Jordan Avery, Phawnta Avery, Malachi Davis, and Jarred Strickland; four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 11:00 am at Infinity Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
