Malcolm Jamal Matthews, 39, a resident of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama.

Malcolm was born on November 25, 1986, in Bradenton, Florida, to Earl D. Matthews and Valerie J. Matthews. He attended Southeast High School, where he graduated in 1999.

On March 20, 2020, Malcolm married Gale Rice, with whom he shared his life and love.

Throughout his working career, Malcolm worked in landscaping at Windance Golf & Country Club. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time doing the things he loved most, including riding motorcycles and watching and playing basketball and football.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his mother, Valerie J. Matthews.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Gale Matthews; his father, Earl Matthews and his wife, Wendy; his children, Malcolm Matthews Jr., Zamora Gooden, Tyasia Gooden, Zytrellya Gooden, Juwella Rice, Tearald Rice, Jameria Franks, Jeanette Williams, and Wilbert Brown; his brothers, Lamar Matthews and his wife, Jackie, Earl Matthews Jr. and his wife, Danielle, Jeffery Sailes and his wife, Jemiia, Henry Matthews and his wife, Kara, and Sammy Sailes; his sisters, Ashley Jones and her husband, Trent, and Shambrea Mitchell and her husband, Tony; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Breaking the Barries Ministries COG - Gulfport, MS. Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
