Lynnwood Dale Magee

Lynnwood Dale Magee was born on May 7, 1956, to the union of Andrew and Marie Magee in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was the 7th of 10 children born to this union. On Monday, January 5, 2026, shortly after his grandson left his bedside, God put his body to rest.

Lynnwood was a master brick mason and entrepreneur. He began perfecting his craft in 1974 while working with his brothers. He was known for his attention to detail in his work, and his craftsmanship can be seen in residential and commercial buildings throughout the Gulf Coast. Lynnwood also liked the autonomy to do things his way, and he carried an entrepreneurial spirit. His entrepreneurial spirit has been passed down to his children as a lasting legacy.

Lynn’s larger-than-life personality never met a stranger and was never short on words. He always had something to say that would make you laugh or smile.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret-Ann Harper Magee; his parents, Marie Holloway-Magee and Andrew Magee; his siblings, John T. Magee, Ernest Magee, and Eva Kelley. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his loving family; daughter, Alesia Lynn Magee of Los Angeles, California, two sons Lynnwood Dale Magee, Jr. and Andrew James Magee of Gulfport, Mississippi and their mother, Shelia Thomas of Gulfport, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Amaurie Ja’Deja Williams of Eielson, Alaska; Andrew James Magee, Jr., Kai Simone Davis, Mallory Jade Magee, Morgan Jewel Magee, Aloni Lynn Magee, and Lynnwood Dale Magee, III of Gulfport, Mississippi; his siblings, Prentiss Magee (Freddie), Ann Lewis, Rosie Magee, Barbara Llyod (Joe), Elouise Magee (Karen), Willie Magee, and Michael Magee (Rhonda); and a host of nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2026. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church 10314 Canal Road Gulfport, MS. 39503.
