Lonnie Eugene Sales, Sr.

Mr. Lonnie Eugene Sales, Sr., 89 years old and a resident of Gautier, Mississippi, passed away on August 1, 2025, at the Biloxi Veterans Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Mr. Lonnie Eugene Sales, Sr., was born in Coaldale, West Virginia, on May 12, 1936. Mr. Lonnie is the son of the late Percy Sales and the late Lillie Belle Sales.

Mr. Lonnie is preceded in Death by his brothers, the late Robert Sales, the late Garfield Sales, and his sister, the late Roberta Smith, and the late Lillie Belle Taylor. He has one living brother, Pervin Sales.

Mr. Lonnie attended school at Tazewell County High School in Bluefield, West Virginia, where he received his high school diploma. Upon completing high school, Mr. Lonnie joined the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Alaska and Mississippi. After completing his tour of duty, Mr. Lonnie worked for the Veterans Administration as a Supply Distribution Administrator. Mr. Lonnie had various careers during his life; he worked as a Barber and a Taxi Driver, and later retired to the Gulf Coast.

Mr. Lonnie’s hobbies included reading and exploring historical data and information; he was considered an amazing historical buff, and his love for country music, bluegrass music, and country attire was unwavering.

Mr. Lonnie Eugene Sales, Sr. was married to the love of his life, Patricia Louise Thomas (Sales), on May 6, 1958. He would affectionately refer to her as the “SWEET HEART OF THE RODEO”. They were blessed with six (6) children and one bonus child, Lonnie Eugene Sales, Jr. (Boston, MA), Patricia Louise Sales (Boston, MA), Patrick Sales (Boston, MA), Percy Sales (deceased), (Boston, MA), Garfield Sales, II, (Boston, MA), and Eretta Andrea Kirkland (Boston, MA) and Gary Blevins (West Virginia).

Mr. Lonnie was also blessed to be the grandfather to 18 Grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he leaves a host of nieces and nephews from Mississippi and Ohio, whom he truly loved.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Infinity Funeral Home in Biloxi, and he will be laid to rest at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
