LaSonya Monique Baker

LaSonya Monique Baker has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior. LaSonya was born on April 4, 1976, to June Robinson Jackson and Robert Lee Gipson. LaSonya welcomed her daddy, Charles V. Jackson and was delighted to be traveling to Germany with him in 1982. Her family settled in Mississippi after returning from Germany in 1985 where she remained and completed her education. LaSonya joined the U. S. Army in 1994. LaSonya married John Baker in 2001 and to this union, God blessed her with one child, John Bakari Baker. LaSonya accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 16 under the leadership of Elder Morris Robinson of Greater Free Will COGIC. LaSonya later rededicated her life to Christ under the guidance and leadership of Bishop Rick August and Evangelist Tammi August who were her Pastor and her leaders at Greater Grace Apostolic Assembly until God welcomed her home. Sister LaSonya leaves behind her only child, John Bakari Baker whom she loved and adored so very much. She also leaves her mother and daddy, Charles and June Jackson of Gulfport, MS, her sister Eboni I. McClain (Brandon) of Long Beach, MS and her sister Daria Jackson of Biloxi, MS. LaSonya leaves also her father, Robert L. Gipson (Gloria), of Las Vegas, NV and brothers Terrance Robinson, Demeatrius Gipson, Mario Gipson (Katrina) and Michelle Cann (Leroy) all of Monroe, LA. Johnathon Horndon (Keisha) of Hawaii, Robert Gipson Jr. of Las Vegas, NV. LaSonya also leaves cherishing her memories, siblings, Anthony Clomon, Reginald Jackson (Chaneika), both of Monroe, LA, Antjuan Lankford (Nicole) of Atlanta, GA and Catrina Allen. LaSonya leaves to mourn the greatest God Parents on Earth, Deacon and Evangelist John Kendrick along with their children, who are her Godsister and Godbrothers. She leaves behind dear, dear friends, Edward Jones, Maya Avery, Mary Young, Ayo Singleton and Tasha Smith along with dear co-workers, Brittany Magee, Denise Walsh and Cindy Bamburg who she worked with at Merit Health and who remained by her bedside during her illness until she transitioned. LaSonya was loved and will be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and an innumerable group of friends. Services will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Greater Grace Apostolic Assembly in Biloxi with visitation one hour before.
