Joseph “Doc” Mallard, 80, a longtime resident of West Chester PA, and currently of Ocean Springs passed away, Aug 5, 2023, at Canon Hospice Care after battling an illness.

He was born in Atmore Ala July 12, 1943, the Son of Mr. Authur Mallard, and Mrs. Katie Mallard Young. Joe was a graduate of Elizabeth Keys High School in Ocean Springs. He loved playing tackle and flag football, fishing, playing cards, but he had a passion for throwing horseshoes! 

Joe spent 40+ years as a truck driver with A. Duie Pyle logging over 1 MILLION miles in his career! 

On Saturday, August 5, 2023, an angel of our Lord silently came into the Canon Hospice Facility and took him home.
Preceding him in death are his parents Katie Mallard Young and Authur Mallard; Stepfather Reverend Wesley Young Sr., three sisters, Mary Hughes, Estelle Johnson, and Katie Lee Joiner, three brothers, Frank, Eddie, and Handy Mallard.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his longtime companion Charlotte Hicks, two sons Patrick Mallard of Crestview Fla, Keith Jackson of Dallas Tx. and one daughter, Tushena Parker of Ocean Springs, Ms. Two sisters Dorothy Bostic of Biloxi Ms., and Clara Mayfield of Ocean Springs Ms. Five grandsons, Duvante’ Mallard of Mobile Ala, Shedrick Mallard of Tacoma WA, Markeith Jackson of Atlanta Ga, George Bretten of Tampa Fla, and Caleb Hendricks of Dallas Tx. Seven granddaughters, Monteva Hodo of Louisville Ky, Jazmine Jackson of Tampa Fla, Rika Mallard of Okinawa JP, Jordan Parker of Ocean Springs, Ms., Ahnikwah Dade of Tampa Fla, Remi Hendricks of Dallas Tx, and Chandre Mkhize of South Africa. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Infinity Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 pm.  Visitation will start at 1:00 pm.
