Janene Ross Newell

Pastor Prophetess Janene Newell passed in peace Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the age of 63 at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. Her departure was not in vain, for she fought a long, courageous battle so that she could spend the last of her days with her beloved family and loved ones.

Janene was born to the late Mrs. Maurice (Marie) Beavers and Mr. Roland Hayes Ross on August 11, 1959, in Laurel, Mississippi, at South Mississippi Charity Hospital.

Prophetess Janene was always outgoing and happy regardless!!! She was evermore inspiring and encouraging others in such positive ways even at an early age. Through many life challenges she remained steadfast, unmovable, and never ceased in doing the works of the Lord.

Janene got married to Madison Earl Harper Sr. and together they had two beautiful children. A boy, Madison Earl Harper Jr., and a girl, Negira Earleina Harper.

Prophetess Janene attended North Gulfport high school. After completing the 10t grade, life became a struggle for her until one day she heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Janene, go to church." Since then, she never looked back. Janene was saved and filled with Holy Spirit in 2009. After remaining faithful to Christ, she brought her family to church and soon became members of Victory Temple Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop Bennie Holland.

Soon after, Janene was ordained Pastor Prophetess Janene Ross Newell by Pastor and cousin, Wesley Beavers. Prophetess Janene had always been a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a real advocate in being hospitable and supportive to everyone she interacted with. She was a loving grandmother and took pride in her grands and great-grands, loving them deeply. She always enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a fondness for fashion as her classy, graces emulated in her style.

She loved to cook and serve family meals from scratch for not only her family and friends, but also the homeless in which she endlessly had a heart for doing all the time.

She was a true Christian and told everything how it was. Prophetess Janene will be greatly missed by all who cherishes her memory.

Pastor Prophetess Janene Ross Newell leaves to cherish her loving memory, two children: Madison Earl Harper Jr. and Negira Earleina Harper; four grandchildren: Dakeven Shantonio Harper, Zachary Adam Climax, Janesijiah Rolonda Harper, Nykeria Pearl Janene Harper; three great-grandchildren: Kingston Elijah Harper, De'Liyah Simone Harper, De'Shyric Shantonio Harper; the Ross, Beavers, Holmes, and Jackson families; all wonderful friends and children of God.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Infinity Funeral Home, at 11:00 am.  Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
