James Derek Parkman was born November 24, 1960, in Gulfport, MS to the late JD Parkman and Helen Parkman. James attended Harrison County School for Exceptional Children. He became a resident of South MS Regional Center in October 1979 until God called him home.
He was employed with Biloxi Industrial Center for many years. He participated in Special Olympic, receiving many metals for Bocce Ball. He was a member of the Bell Choir. The choir performed many years during the Christmas holidays at Edgewater Mall. He loved worship service and listening to music. James enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and watching TV.
He was preceded in death by his father, JD Parkman, and sister, Wanda Parkman.

Smith. of Brandon, MS, Linda Bender of Hattiesburg, MS, Mavis (Maurice) James of Jackson, MS, Kenneth (Linda) Parkman of Evansville, IN, Paula (Willie) Porter of Gulfport, MS, Diane Christmon of Ellicott City, MD, Jennifer Parkman of Washington, DC, Padre Parkman of Jackson, MS, Zoe (Bobby) Roper of Ft. Washington, MD, Jerry (Lisa) Parkman of Vancouver, WA. One God-brother Nate Fairley of Gulfport, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the South MS Regional Center Family.
James had a smile that lit a room. You left us beautiful memories. Your love will remain in our heart forever. ~ The Family
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, at 11:00 am. Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
