Helene Marie-Louise Fiorucci San Juan

Helene Marie-Louise Fiorucci San Juan, 79, a resident of Long Beach, MS, passed away September 3, 2022, at home from natural causes.

She was born in Nice-Alpes Maritimes, France, the daughter of Raphael and Denise Fiorucci. Helene was married to Miguel C. San Juan on December 16, 1969.

Helene was an amazing wife, mother, and "laughing buddy." She was the backbone of her family, as she made sure everything was always in order and taken care of.  She was a very strong, determined woman who overcame many obstacles in her life due to a stroke that left her paralyzed on one side of her body. She did re-learn how to talk and walk again until many years later when her hip gave out and had to be in a wheelchair. 

She had a sweet, beautiful face and personality combined with a soft voice and French accent that made anyone just want to listen. She loved to laugh, especially at the silly things her grandchildren did. Slap-Stick comedies and Action/Adventures were her favorite kinds of movie to watch. She was a big fan of the Indiana Jones series and any movies that included Arnold Schwarzenegger or The Rock. 

She liked documentaries on the History Channel and read archeological books and books about historical figures. And when she discovered how to use her smartphone, she couldn't resist shopping online.  Before her wheelchair days, she gardened, made crafts, painted ceramics, and baked from scratch until she wasn't able to anymore.  

Being French, her favorite thing to eat was Camembert or Brie cheese and French bread with café au lait, and her favorite dessert was triple chocolate cake.

She always looked forward to spending the holidays with our long-time friends. There were good home-cooked dishes, laughter, story-telling, and the board games we all played together. It had become a family tradition. 

She was a good woman and didn't deserve all the misfortunes, pain and suffering that she endured her remaining years. And in the early morning of September 3, during her sleep, she let go of the world allowing serenity to embrace her.

Helene was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Fiorucci.

Helene is survived by Miguel C. San Juan; her only child, Cecilia Pompeyo; her Ex-son-in-law, Jeffrey Pompeyo; two grandchildren, Dominic and Elena Pompeyo.

Funeral Services for Helene Marie-Louise Fiorucci San Juan will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 12:30 pm at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
