Hazel Lee Moffett

Hazel Lee Moffett was born on December 27, 1963, in Caile, Mississippi to the late Frank B. Richards, Sr. and Elnora B. Richards. She was the 2nd oldest of five children. Hazel received her formal education from Humphreys County High School in May of 1981. After high school, she went to Mississippi Valley State University for two years. Then, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Herman Moffett on June 18, 1983. From this union, they were blessed with 1 son and 3 daughters, Kentrick, Marquito, Tiffany and Nateisha. After moving to Biloxi, MS, she went to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and received her degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Afterwards, she went to work for SAAD Home Healthcare for 10 years and Kare-In-Home for over 20 years, where she devoted herself into taking care of and providing basic care to her patients and she left a lasting impression on all of those she touched. Hazel was sweet, loving, and a very special person who was devoted to her family. She adored and doted on her grandchildren. They were the apple of her eye. She was always there with her husband to cheer at her grandsons’ football, basketball, and soccer games. She also loved spending time with granddaughters planting flowers in her garden. Hazel better known as “Shellie” received her wings and made her heavenly transition with the Lord on January 4, 2018 where she was surrounded by her loved ones. Hazel was preceded in death by her father, Frank B. Richards, Sr.; maternal grandparents H.B. and Pearlie B. Wright; and Walter Brown; her paternal grandparents, Joseph Billingsley and Hazel L. Holt and her mother-in-law Ethel Moffett. Hazel Moffett leaves to cherish her memories her devoted and loving husband of 34 years, Herman Moffett; her 4 children that she treasured Kentrick Richards; Marquito (Marvin) Moffett-May; Tiffany Moffett; and Nateisha Moffett all of Biloxi, MS.
