Evelyn Coleman Price

Evelyn C. Price was born on October 16, 1949, to the late W.C. Coleman and Arlena G. Coleman.

Realizing that she needed to seek salvation, she joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Collins, MS, at an early age.

Evelyn met the love of her life, Frank Price, Jr.; and they were married on February 20, 1974. To this union, they had three children, Franklin G. Coleman, Mario R. Price and Tonja S. Price.

Evelyn worked for The Army & Air Force Exchange (AAFES) for 34 years in places like Upper Hayford Air Force Base (AFB), England, Castle AFB, California, Anderson AFB, Guam, Ellisworth AFB, South Dakota; and finally, Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS.

After arriving in Ocean Springs, MS in July 1993, she joined Macedonia Baptist Church in 1994.

She also enjoyed participating with the Senior Mission, singing in the adult Mass Choir, and working at the Lord is My Help Mission, when it was Macedonia’s time to serve.

Preceding Evelyn in death, were her father W.C. Coleman, mother Arlena G. Walker, her son, Avery R. Coleman; brothers, Willie Curtis, Howard Walker Jr., her sisters Josephine Lott and Priscilla Walker.

Her memories will be forever cherished by her husband, Deacon Frank Price, Jr., of Ocean Springs, MS, sons, Franklin G. (Valerie) Coleman of Frisco, Texas; Mario R. Price of Iowa; and daughter Tonja S. Price of Ocean Springs, MS.  Also, her 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Siblings: Lillian Shelton, Dorothy (Charles) Killingsworth, Lavoris R. Walker, Larry Walker, Jerry (Tara) Walker, Viola Walker, Phyllis (John) Wright all of Hattiesburg, MS; Erma Jemison (Neil) of Gary, Indiana, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, at 12:00 pm.  Visitation will start at 11:00 am.
