Dorothy M. Shaw

Dorothy Mae Johnson Shaw departed this earthly life on Sunday, August 22, 2021, in Gulfport, MS at the age of 77. She was born on September 12, 1943, in Louisiana and spent her childhood in Biloxi, Mississippi, where she attended Nichols Colored School. Dorothy attended Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Biloxi, MS. She was an entrepreneur in the medical field for 45 years. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Venita Johnson; her husband Charles Shaw; her daughters Darlene Fields-Morgan and Cecelia Fields; a sister, Ann Shirley Tatum; seven brothers, Carliss Johnson, Clarence Johnson, Robert Johnson Jr., T.J. Johnson, Harry Johnson, Larry Johnson, and Steve Johnson. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marlyn (Glory) Fields of Biloxi, MS, Nicole (Roddrick) Smith of Atlanta, GA, Shan (Dapanese) Fields of Biloxi, MS, Nicholas Fields of Fairbanks, AK, and Rita (Freeman) Lathan of Anchorage, AK. 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Infinity Funeral Home at 12:00 pm. Visitation will start at 11:00 am.
