Charles Anthony "Chuck" Puleo

March 16, 1967 — April 5, 2026

Charles "Chuck" Puleo passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026. A man of undeniable presence, Chuck lived a life marked by both a fierce loyalty and profound struggle. Born with a spirit that was hard to tame, Chuck served his country as a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. His time in the military shaped much of his worldview, instilling in him a ruggedness that he carried throughout his life. After his service, Chuck found his calling in the high-pressure world of the culinary arts. He spent many years as a chef in Las Vegas, and later in the Biloxi area, where his talent in the kitchen was matched only by his formidable personality.

To those who didn't know him well, Chuck may have been seen as crass. He didn't suffer fools, but those he loved, he loved fiercely. Those that navigated that tough exterior found a man who cared with surprising depth. His loyalty wasn't given easily, but once earned, it was ironclad. Chuck faced many internal demons throughout his life, battling those struggles often defined his days, but they did not define the man. He was a tortured soul who sought peace in his own way, often through the craft of a well-prepared meal, or the shared silence of those who truly understood him. He was a great lover of dogs, sports, good food, and his family and friends.

Chuck was born on March 16, 1967, to Dora Jean (nee Willis) and Charles Ludovic Puleo. He is survived by his daughter, Erica Christine Puleo; his son, Anthony Charles Puleo; two sisters, Laurie (Dennis) Van Grol, and Lynn (Greg) Taylor; brother, James (Mimi) Puleo, as well as two grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and extended family.

The family asks that you remember Chuck for his sense of humor and his enormous heart. He has finally found the peace that eluded him for so long.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans Affairs/Local Recovery Center.
