Bessie Herbert

Bessie Herbert, 84, was born to the late Lamar Thompson and Mattie Thompson Norris. She was united in matrimony to Roy Herbert and was a dedicated wife and mother of six. Bessie was employed with Memorial Hospital and retired from the Veteran's Administration. Bessie is survived by her children, Annette Bayless, Alice Dunlap, Sebastian Herbert, Anthony Herbert, Antonio Herbert and Reginald Herbert. Siblings, Lamar Thompson, Jr.; Zelma Beavers, Edison Thompson, Rev. Dr. Bennie C. Thompson, Eugene Thompson, Milton and Lee Etta Thompson and Michael Thompson; and a host of other relatives and a community of friends. Services will be Thursday, June 27, 2013 at St. Paul AME in Gulfport. Visitation from 10-11am, with service beginning at 11:00am. The family of Mrs. Bessie Herbert has entrusted her care to the professional staff of RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME.
