Almeta Harris Hampton, 75, a resident of D’Iberville, MS, passed away, July 28, 2021, at Merit Health in Biloxi, Mississippi.
She was born in Camden, South Carolina, on September 16, 1945, the Daughter of Oscar Harris and Ruby Harris Craft.
Almeta attended Southern University from 1963 until 1965. She later enrolled at Phillips College where she received a BS Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Almeta was married to Bobby Hampton on June 7, 1964, to this union two children were born.
Almeta began her career as a Civil Service worker at Andrews AFB in Washington, DC, and then turned her sights to the insurance industry. She enjoyed a rewarding career as a Life Insurance Underwriter for twenty-seven and a half years while being licensed in 22 states.
Almeta was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Harris Craft; two Brothers, Oscar Harris and Ruthern Harris, and one Sister, Estelle Holmes.
Almeta is survived by her Spouse, Bobby Hampton; two Children, Cynthia Hampton- (Seymour) Wilder and Bryan D. Hampton; “two Brothers, Dennis Harris and Robert (Lola) Harris; two Sisters, Shirley Harris (Ernest) Jackson and Rosemary Harris Cossey; "five Grandchildren, Jaice Hampton, Breanna Hampton, Sierra Hampton, Bryan Hampton, II and Brynna Hampton; “three Aunts, Jessie Harris, Allie Harris, and Rosemary Crosby Broughton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 11:00 at Infinity Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
