Viola moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast at the age of eight and was educated at Perkins Elementary and Nichols High School in Biloxi, MS. She married William Beamon, Sr. although this union did not last, Viola was blessed with her son, William Beamon, Jr. A lover of education, Viola went back to school to receive her GED before travelling the globe with her second husband, Charlie Yeoman, a member of the United States Air Force. She loved doing for others and being with friends. A vibrant woman, she enjoyed dancing and modeling. Many of her outfits she sewed herself. A woman of many interests, Viola also enjoyed fishing and softball. Viola always said she didnt want a job, just a degree so in 2001 she graduated from Jefferson Davis College with her Teachers Degree. She was very proud of this accomplishment. She spent years working with children on Keesler Air Force Base. Her health began to fail in 2008, but she never gave up. She fought a long, hard battle to the end. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Yeoman, parents, Freddie Owens and Beulah Berry Owens; two brothers, Curtis Owens and Willie Owens; a special aunt, Gaitha Picket and three nephews, Jimmy Owens, Clifton Lay, and Lennie Owens. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, William Beamon, Jr.; three sisters, Evelyn Davis and Ola Mae (Willie) Miller both of Slidell, LA and Lottie Mae (Mack) McWilliams of Houston, TX. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and friends, especially two special friends, Mary Ledford of Texas and Sondra Green of Biloxi, MS just to name a few.
