Sandy Benton, Sr

Sandy M. Benton, Sr., 92, resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was born in Forest, MS on November 25, 1921 the son of Sam and Mary Benton. Mr. Benton was married to the late Flossie Gilmore Benton on August 24, 1946. Mr. Benton spent his working career at The Tradewinds Hotel and The Broadwater Beach Hotel/President Casino. Sandy was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 grandson. Sandy is survived by two brothers, Elbert and Preston Benton, three children, Carla B. Smith (Anthony), Frieda B. Swanier (Cullen) and Sandy Benton Jr.; three grandchildren, Kiersten and Ari Swanier, Lauren Benton. Funeral services for Sandy M. Benton, Sr. will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at First Missionary Baptist Church, Biloxi, MS at 9:30 a.m. Burial immediately following at Biloxi National Cemetery. Richmond-August Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Sandy Benton, Sr.
